About

Learning Before Lunch is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to sponsor and provide to the local community informed talks that offer fresh perspectives and insights about issues and institutions affecting our daily lives. Targeted toward adults interested in lifelong learning, our programs create opportunities for members and guests to make new friends, learn about our community and become more engaged citizens.

Programs are held on the University of New Orleans campus (see map) at 10 a.m. on the second Thursday of each month (see "2022 Event Schedule" for the latest details). Come early for coffee and a chance to mingle with new friends!

Learning Before Lunch L3C is a 501(c)(3) entity funded by memberships and donations, and governed by a Board of Directors. Year-long memberships covering the 2022 calendar year are available to anyone who completes a membership form and pays our low-cost dues (see Become a Member). Guests are also welcome to attend a single program for a suggested $5 donation. Donations are tax-deductible under Louisiana law.

The University of New Orleans campus, where our programs are held, is located at the edge of Lake Pontchartrain, bounded by Elysian Fields Avenue and Robert E. Lee Boulevard. It is easily accessible from most areas, and free parking is generally available in one of the lots near the center of campus.
